Mud Drawing
Maryland Art Place, Baltimore, MD
Two tons of Maryland clay
12' Diameter
A shallow cone was carved into the clay by a blade.  Then the mass progressively transformed from muck into a dried slab, from the center out, over the course of the exhibition. The drying process raised the humidity in the gallery and foliage then grew on the window lit side of the slab.
