Dawn Gavin - Foundations, Honors Program Director

Originally from Glasgow, Scotland, Dawn Gavin currently lives and works in Baltimore, Maryland. She holds an MFA in Fine Art and an MSc in Electronic Imaging from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, in Dundee, Scotland. She has taught in the Department of Art at the University of Maryland since 2001, and is currently an Associate Professor. Her studio practice investigates issues of identity and displacement, employing a range of media from collage and installed drawings to digital video.

Professor Gavin’s work has been exhibited in numerous venues, including the Baltimore Museum of Art, the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Philadelphia Art Alliance, The John Michael Kohler Art Center, Maryland Art Place and Dundee Contemporary Arts Visual Research Center.
